About the La Quinta Library
The La Quinta Library began in 1976 as a bookmobile stop in what was then the quaint and cozy village of La Quinta. Since then, the library has grown from a modest 20-hour-a-week service point housing a mere 8,900 items into a vibrant, bustling community hub that boasts a sprawling 20,000-square-foot building whose doors opened in 2005.
The La Quinta Library offers not just endless shelves of books, but also a variety of regular and special programs, including story times, school readiness, author events, a hydroponic garden, a monthly birthday party open to all, Hallowe’en “fright nights,” and other events organized by an energetic, creative, and dedicated library staff.
